Over the last two years, Matt Ridley has led the establishment of the Hangar 51 Ventures team, bringing a corporate venturing capability to IAG, one of the world’s largest airline groups. He is focused on technologies to improve customer experience and operational efficiency. As the first airline group to announce a target of carbon neutrality, he is also focused on reducing the environmental impact of travel. Prior to starting at IAG, Matt established and ran a corporate venturing team for Winton Group, one of Europe’s largest Hedge Funds, responsible for the deployment of £50M from Winton’s balance sheet. He has led investments into high potential companies within cybersecurity, financial services, and clean energy. He has been instrumental in establishing and running several corporate accelerator programs. He has worked within Cyber Security at BP and UK Government, and at Reuters Finance. He has degrees from UCL and Exeter.
